In one of the best small cities in America, the Lynchburg Public Library is gearing up for 2019. I interviewed some of its wonderful staff, and found them warm and friendly.
Youth Services Supervisor Beverly Blair says, "[My favorite part of my job is] working with children and families - connecting them to literacy and literature." Adult services librarian Leann Underwood says, "SO many people [come to the library each day!] " Adult services librarian Diana Harvey agrees. "[two of our events are] Tech Tuesdays, and Knit Wits." Underwood says. Lynchburg Public Library has some very dedicated librarians on its staff. Beverly Blair, and Youth Services Library Assistant Emily Mook, have been working at the Lynchburg Public Library for about 6 year. More new, Victoria Winfree, Diana Harvey, Leann Underwood and Olivia Eaton have been working for between 2 and 3 years. Eaton leads Junior Explorers, a traditional storytime with age-appropriate elements of STEAM, sensory, and movement activities. Library Assistant Emily Mook, teaches 9-12 STEAM, a 30-minute, hands-on program. Mook enjoys lesson-planning, and thinking of fun activities for her students to do. She says "[my favorite part of my job is] working with children." Adult Services Librarian Dina Harvey says, "[My favorite part of my job is] helping people find books." This library is providing families and kids with great literature and wonderful activities, storyties, and learning opportunities. I would like to commend the Lynchburg Public library for its service, and for allowing me to interview its staff. If you know of an especially exquisite library you would like to be recognized, please use the contact box on the main page to let me know. If you do this, both you and your library will be recognized in my next post. Be sure to let me know the your name, the name of the library, and where you're contacting from. Those steps are VERY important! I will not be able to recognize you if you do not provide that information.
